She said I needed a particular style,
A niche I could own,
So people could say,
Yeah, he writes devotional,
No no, it’s all emotional,
A bit too spiritual,
With a tinge of rational,
Fuck it.
Some people like it that way,
Carving out a piece of divine,
Packaging it neatly,
With minor side effects,
And ideally some addiction,
So everybody can be happy,
For a moment..
What the hell,
I’m not in sales,
A song is a song,
