By the waterfall

By the waterfall

I chanced upon a ray of light
That shone through the woods with all its might
Walking along, always at noon
wonder where it hides, when day turns to night

A fire, a bench, in the sand
A million times can not amend
Fresh water, invites a visit
The waterfall, close at hand

I saw them often on that stone
Mighty gleaming, a true queen’s throne
I met them there, many a time
What love we shared, in a myriad tone

At long last, a new path emerge
The call is made, sweet maidens urge
My story though good, must farther abide
A wreath I must bring, with flower splurge

Tigers and bears and gods assemble
Power so great, to make mountains tremble
An arrow shot, to mark the spot
Where dance I will, in this heavenly temple

A gaze averted, a touch delayed
Through song and dance, much was said
In that place, I came to be
Let this much suffice, though more was had.
